A Silent Film

Now a UK duo, A Silent Film have announced their return with their new self-titled, full-length studio album "A Silent Film" to be released on October 16th via the band's own label Silent Songs. This third collection was produced by the band's Robert Stevenson and Spencer Walker, with assistance from Matthew Wilcox (Foster The People, Bethel Music). The 11-track album was recorded in the band's hometown of Oxford, UK. "Lightning Strike" is the album's emotional lead single.
"'Lightning Strike' feels like the song we have been trying to write for years," says Stevenson.
Walker adds, "The song was a very late addition to the album, so late in fact that the live strings and vocals had to be recorded before everything else due to scheduling conflicts. The drums, bass and guitars were then recorded live in a single day as an overdub, it was mixed the next day and away it went."
Based in Oxford, the duo consists of Robert Stevenson (vocals, piano & guitar), and Spencer Walker (drums). The band self-produced their last album "Sand & Snow," inspired by an impulsive tryst with Americana, yielding the singles "Harbour Lights", and "Danny, Dakota and the Wishing Well" to build on the success of 2010's anthemic debut single "You Will Leave A Mark." Over the years, the band has toured with such acts as OneRepublic, Civil Twilight, Smashing Pumpkins and Temper Trap as well as festival performances including Glastonbury and Firefly.
In support of the album release, A Silent Film will also return to the U.S. for a tour this fall.
