The Arcs

"Outta My Mind" is the new single from The Arcs, the new band led by The Black Keys front-man Dan Auerbach. This is a dark number that's more in line with The Black Keys' style of music. They will release their debut album on September 4th through Nonesuch Records/Warner Bros. Records. Entitled "Yours, Dreamily", the 14-track collection was recorded in "roughly two weeks through spontaneous, informal sessions across the country," including the Sound Factory in Los Angeles and Auerbach's own Easy Eye Sound in Nashville.
"I just wanted to do my thing and get extra weird," The Black Keys guitarist/vocalist previously said of his new project. "I wanted everything to flow [and] be cohesive. A lot of the songs bleed one into the other, a lot like the Grateful Dead - my favorite records that they did. So I've got a lot of connected songs. It's basically everything I love about music all wrapped up into one record - that's all!"
The Arcs consists of Auerbach and his longtime musician buddies Leon Michels, Richard Swift, Homer Steinweiss, Nick Movshon and Kenny Vaughan.
"This is the culmination of all these years playing together," says Auerbach. "We just finally put a name to it and decided to put out an album."
Auerbach has select festival dates with The Black Keys throughout this summer and even a one-off in October, but after "Yours, Dreamily," is released in September, he plans on launching a two-month North America and Europe tour with The Arcs that he says will hit "mid-size theaters."
