Family Of The Year
Jul 8, 2015
After providing the main song for Richard Linklater's film "Boyhood" with "Hero," Family Of The Year has returned with a single called "Make You Mine." The balmy day track is a live-for-the-season ode with front-man Joseph Keefe singing, "All the boys, and all the pretty girls. Summertime I'm gonna make you mine' Lie here forever but, for now, let's do forever." This track will appear on Family Of The Year's self-titled record, due out on September 4th via Warner Bros. Records/Nettwerk Music Group.
Recorded in Berlin and back home in Los Angeles, The Family Of The Year foursome -- Joseph Keefe (vocals & guitar), Sebastian Keefe (drums & vocals), James Buckey (guitar & vocals) and Christina Schroeter (keyboard & vocals)-- deliver a musical progression with a more electric sound than previous releases. Taking on new subject matters, the band's assorted instrumentation and lyrical arc are emblematic of the last three years on the road and finding success here and abroad. In 2012, they released their debut major label album, "Loma Vista."
The band has been a mainstay of summer festivals, including Lollapalooza, Summerfest, Downsview, BottleRock Napa Valley, Guinness Oyster & Music Festival, Launch Sacramento, Mariposa Folk Festival, Red Rocks Amphitheatre and others. Family Of The Year are touring the US with AWOLNATION this summer.
