Passion Pit
Feb 18, 2015
As the follow-up to Passion Pit's 2012's Gossamer, Kindred is their latest album to be released on April 21st via Columbia Records. The lead single of the collection is "Lifted Up (1985)" and it is a blistering dance track where the lead singer, Michael Angelakos sings "1985 was a good year / The sky broke apart then you appeared / Lifted off the ground / I took your hands and pulled down." Kindred was written by Passion Pit creative force and front-man Angelakos and recorded in New York City. The album was produced by Angelakos alongside longtime collaborators and co-producers Chris Zane and Alex Aldi, as well as Benny Blanco.
Originally from Cambridge, Massachusetts and formed in 2007, the band currently consists of Michael Angelakos (lead vocals, keyboards) and Jeff Apruzzese (bass, synth bass). Passion Pit's first full-length studio album, Manners, was released in 2009. "The Reeling", "Little Secrets" and "Sleepyhead" were the chart toppers from that collection. Their second album, Gossamer, came out in 2012 and it's singles "Take A Walk", "I'll Be Alright" and "Carried Away" were the frontrunners of that album.
Passion Pit will be busy on the festival circuit, including Buku Music + Art Project in New Orleans; McDowell Mountain Music Festival in Phoenix; Big Guava Festival in Tampa; Bottlerock Festival in Napa, CA; and WayHome Music + Arts Festival in Canada.
