Gerard Way
Oct 2, 2014
Hesitant Alien is the debut solo album from former My Chemical Romance front man Gerard Way. It released on September 30th via Warner Bros. Records. Hesitant Alien was produced by longtime engineer Doug McKean (MCR's May Death Never Stop You: The Greatest Hits 2001-2013, Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys) and mixed by Tchad Blake (Arctic Monkeys, The Black Keys).
"I think I'm trying to push stuff on the radio in a newer direction," Way says. "Stuff that hasn't really been on modern rock radio is what I'm going for."
Gerard founded My Chemical Romance in 2001 and the band split in 2013. He is the executive producer of the band LostAlone's second album I'm a UFO in This City. Way also wrote the comic mini-series The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, and wrote the Eisner Award-winning comic book The Umbrella Academy.
Following performances at Leeds and Reading Music Festivals in the UK, Gerard Way has announced a batch of U.S. shows in support of the eight-song collection. This is Way's first ever solo tour of America. The trek isn't long. Way will be playing intimate venues in only San Francisco, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Boston, New York and Sayreville, N.J. He will also be taking his tour to UK in November.
