Death From Above 1979
Aug 3, 2014
Death From Above 1979 have recently announced the track list and offered up the first song from their new album, The Physical World, along with scheduling a string of European and North American tour dates to accompany their first LP since splitting up in 2006. "Trainwreck 1979" is the first single and it's a relentless piece of all-cylinders punk. Via Warner Bros. Records, the album will be released on September 9th. It marks the Toronto duo's second full-length effort.
Death from Above 1979 members are Jesse F. Keeler on bass, synths, backing vocals and Sebastien Grainger on vocals and drums. This latest album comes after a decade since the release of their debut album, You're a Woman, I'm a Machine in 2004. It sold 175,000 copies world wide and went gold in the band's native Canada.
The duo will play a homecoming gig at Toronto's Riot Fest in September before touring this fall, with a European trek set for October and North American dates scheduled for November. Fans in the US will also get one download of The Physical World for every pair of tickets they purchase, except for dates at Riot Fest, the Voodoo Music and Arts Experience in New Orleans, Fun Fun Fun festival in Austin and a November 21st show at Salt Lake City's In the Venue.
