Ghost Beach
Mar 30, 2014
The debut full length LP from the Brooklyn-based duo, Ghost Beach, is out now via Nettwerk Records and it is entitled Blonde. They have perfected their unique blend of retro & futuristic soaring synth pop with this collection.
Ghost Beach member, Eric "Doc" Mendelsohn describes the single from Blonde, "Miracle" as "a song that describes falling back in love with yourself & falling back in love with hope. It's about becoming more self-aware. It's about not accepting the mundane & believing (even if it's in your head) that things will get better, and even when you feel disconnected from your own purpose, it's always possible to reawaken your inspiration."
There is a vivid accompanying video to the song full of radiant color & deliciously psychedelic moments.
The duo are Josh Ocean (vocals, bass & synths) & Eric "Doc" Mendelsohn (guitars, synths & MPC sampler). Their sound is self-described as "Tropical Grit Pop" and draws influence from Peter Gabriel, The Police and other popular music of the 1980s. The name Ghost Beach is taken from the popular children's book series Goosebumps. Having already performed alongside The 1975, ASTR, Betty Who & St. Lucia, they recently announced a Firefly Festival appearance and national tour dates supporting RAC & The Sounds.
