You Me At Six

British rock group, You Me At Six have released their fourth studio album, Cavalier Youth via Prospect Park. It debuted atop the Billboard Heatseekers chart upon its release in January. The group's best U.S. chart showing paved the way for its new single, Room to Breathe. Two other tracks from the album, "Lived a Lie" and "Fresh Start Fever" have already topped the rock charts in the U.K., where You Me At Six's previous three albums have gone gold and where the new album debuted at No. 1.
"We wanted the USA to have its own single," says front-man Josh Franceschi, "not just a reflection of our UK success but an exclusive piece of music just for American radio. Our producer, Neal Avron, even made a new mix of the song so that it was a unique introduction to American audiences."
Room To Breathe was the first song You Me at Six wrote for Cavalier Youth. "It was the catalyst that sparked the most intensive period of writing we've had as a group and became a song that helped define our direction for the record as a whole," Franceschi says. "We wrote the song in one rehearsal. Our guitarist Max Helyer showed us the riff, we immediately started playing along and the whole song came together in a day."
Formed in 2004, the group rose to fame in 2008 with the success of their debut album, Take Off Your Colours, which included the singles "Save It For The Bedroom", "Finders Keepers" and "Kiss And Tell" hitting the UK Singles Chart.
The UK five-piece include Josh Franceschi (lead vocals), Max Helyer (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Chris Miller (lead guitar) Matt Barnes (bass guitar) and Dan Flint (drums, percussion, sampling). The band's main influences include American rock bands Blink-182, Incubus, and Thrice.
In support of this latest album, You Me At Six will be headlining a North American tour this spring. It begins April 21st at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, CA.
