In a year of viral mega-hits from Down Under, a group of four youthful musical friends have reached the upper echelons of the Australian pop charts with an intoxicating ear-worm of a song called "Awkward." San Cisco, from sunny Fremantle, Western Australia released their US debut, Awkward EP on Fat Possum in October 2012.
San Cisco's music can best be described as sensationally experimental, unrefined, vibrant and catchy. The Awkward EP features 4 tracks of addictive indie pop goodness. Each member of the band brings a different influence to the table from their diverse and eclectic palate of indie, rap, hip-hop and jazz.
The lead single "Awkward" features the vocal talents of both Jordi Davieson and drummer, Scarlett Stevens. Penned in the studio one afternoon, the song was voted in to the top 10 of Triple 10 of Australia's Triple J's Hot 100. The song is now certified Gold status by Australia's ARIA. The video has already surpassed 3 million views on YouTube.
San Cisco began 2013 on their first US tour, opening for The Vaccines. The four-piece indie pop band will release their debut album on RCA this year.
