Pennywise
Apr 23, 2012
Southern California's raucous punk heroes Pennywise are hitting the stage this May 5th for KROQ's annual Weenie Roast Festival at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine, CA. The band, who have played a tremendous role in shaping the sound of Southern California punk with high energy songs filled with catchy, optimistic lyrics and heavy, fast paced rhythms give fans a chance to preview a new in-your-face track "Let Us Hear Your Voice" from their new album, All Or Nothing, out May 1st on Epitaph Records.
Formed in the South Bay of Los Angeles, a neighborhood with a rich punk rock history, Pennywise derived their name from the monster, It, from the Stephen King novel of the same name. Pennywise has released nine full-length studio albums. When punk rock became more popular during the '90s, Pennywise was able to rise right along with it. By 2007, the band had sold over 3 million records worldwide, making them one of the most successful independent punk acts of all time.
The group has solidified their place in punk history with songs like the raging "F*** Authority," "Alien" and the band's now legendary ode to brotherhood and departed friends "Bro Hymn."
In 2009, Jim Lindberg decided to leave the band and he was replaced by Ignite singer Zoli Téglás who joins guitarist Fletcher Dragge, bassist Randy Bradbury, and drummer Byron McMackin on the new album.
Gearing up to promote All Or Nothing, Pennywise will be touring extensively throughout the US and then finishing up with a month of tour dates in Europe.
