Keane

Keane's fourth studio album, Strangeland, is set to be released on May 7th. The album was recorded at Tim Rice-Oxley's Sea Fog Studios, in England. This English alternative rock band has had a busy career so far and will continue to make positive waves with this new album. The drummer of Keane, Richard Hughes, states that "In many respects, it feels like the completion of a circle. On the album you have songs that draw upon the experiences we used to share as kids, growing up. You can never really go back, of course. We're married. Some of us have kids. Once in a while though, we'll go to the local pub and talk about everything and nothing until it's time to go home. Whatever it is that makes us Keane is still there. And you can hear it all over Strangeland."
Formed in 1997, Keane is comprised of Tim Rice-Oxley (piano, backing vocals), Tom Chaplin (lead vocals, guitar), Richard Hughes (drums, percussion) and Jesse Quin (bass guitar, percussion). Their debut album, Hopes and Fears, released in 2004 achieved mainstream success, winning multiple awards and was the second best-selling British album of the year. Their second studio album, Under the Iron Sea, continued the band's success, topping the album charts in the UK and debuting #4 on the Billboard 200 chart. They released their third album Perfect Symmetry in 2008 and their fourth record, Night Train, was released in May 2010, debuting at #1 on the UK Chart and #25 on the Billboard 200 US chart. Keane is known for using a piano as the lead instrument instead of guitars. Since the start of their career, the band has sold over 10 million albums worldwide.
Keane have a busy summer ahead to promote the new album, Strangeland, which is their first record in four years.
