100 gecs
Mar 1, 2023
St. Louis duo 100 gecs share their new single "Hollywood Baby" via Dog Show/Atlantic. The single has become a fan favorite during their recent shows, with grainy phone videos of the song circulating in online forums and social media since the first timed they performed it in late 2021. It will be on the band's second album, 10,0000 gecs, set for release on March 17th.
A music video accompanies the single, directed by Laura Les and Dylan Brady and edited by longtime 100 gecs collaborator Weston Allen, showcasing the gecs dancing while setting off fireworks in their apartment. They have also revealed the tracklist for 10,000 gecs, which was written, produced, and performed by Laura and Dylan with the help of legendary drummer Josh Freese in Los Angeles.
Following their breakout debut album, 1,000 gecs, the duo recently released a surprise EP, Snake Eyes. The EP features 3 unreleased tracks including "Torture Me (featuring Skrillex)." After the dio's world tour was postponed in the summer of 2020, Brady and Les kept rolling with the release of 1,000 gecs and The Tree of Clues, a rework of the original album featuring collaborations from the likes of A. G. Cook, Fall Out Boy, Charli XCX, Rico Nasty, as well as crowd sourced contributions by fans.
Following their upcoming album release, 100 gecs will begin a tour with support from Machine Girl and Fever Ray from April 4th until May 21st.
