Barns Courtney
Sep 22, 2022
UK-born, Seattle-bred singer/songwriter Barns Courtney has a new single "Supernatural" and brand-new look and record label. The title track is from his upcoming third full-length album and first new music via 300 Elektra Entertainment. Produced by David Greenbaum (Beck, Gorillaz, Cage The Elephant), Courtney’s latest effort emerged in a series of free-flowing sessions at legendary studios like Sunset Sound, Henson Recording Studios, and United Recording, ultimately being completed by Barns and Martin Eden at the Libertines Studio "The Albion Rooms."
"A glam rock tale of love and lust" said Courtney, about the new song. The body of work offers up his far-ranging obsessions (the writings of Oscar Wilde, ritualistic iconography and ancient mythology, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, to name a few), all crystallized in an elaborate narrative centered a post-apocalyptic cult leader. Each forthcoming track will offer additional details on his new world.
Barns was born in England and moved with his family to Seattle when he was 4 years old. He has released two full-length albums, The Attractions Of Youth (2017) and 404 (2019). Barns has also released two EPs: Year The Dull Drums (2017) and It's Hard To Be Alone (2020).
His debut album on Capitol, included the Top 20 Alternative single “Fire.” His last single “99” in 2019, inspired from playing video games growing up in the late-90’s in Seattle, was a Top 5 Alternative single.
Barns is out on tour now through November 12th, taking him back home to Seattle. Find the tour dates here.
