Caamp

Columbus, OH's Caamp lead single "Believe" is crossing from Triple A. It’s from their upcoming fourth full-length album, Lavender Days, out June 24th via Mom + Pop. The album was produced by Caamp and Beatriz Artola (Fleet Foxes, Adele, Sharon Van Etten).
“‘I believe in you baby’ - a mantra for yourself and for the world,” says Caamp lead singer Taylor Meier, on the single. "It’s about sticking through the tough and heading for the sun."
Lavender Days was written in the aftermath of a period of loss and heartache suffered by Meier. A great love, a great dog, his livelihood, his sanity…all gone in the same period when touring and every bit of human interaction was taken from him and the rest of the world. It was a humbling experience, and one that placed him firmly back in the spot that Caamp so often writes about - his Midwestern home and the life he lives there in the state of OHIO. It’s the romanticism that Caamp approaches that simple life with that speaks to their volume of fans and is even further ruminated on in Lavender Days. It’s about the in between days - the small pleasures and the forgotten disappointments.
The band began as a project between childhood friends Taylor Meier and Evan Westfall, who met at a summer camp while they were middle school students. Meier and Westfall graduated from Upper Arlington High School in 2012. In 2013 Taylor began playing in coffee shops around Athens while studying at Ohio University. They later added bass player Matt Vinson and Joseph Kavalec on the keyboards.
To date, Caamp has released two albums. Their first album, self-titled, was released in 2016 on Square Roots Records. In 2018, Caamp released a six-song EP. Their second album, By And By, was released in 2019 by Mom + Pop.
Caamp just kicked off tour dates earlier this week with The Lumineers. They have a summer headline tour beginning July 5th in San Diego and ending back home in Columbus on October 21st.
