Iration

Earlier this summer, the reggae-influenced group Iration released their newest studio album “Coastin'” via the band's own Three Prong Records. The first single out from it, "Right Here Right Now" features Eric Rachmany from Rebelution and Stick Figure. “Coastin'” is the seventh full-length studio album from the Hawaiian-bred, California-based quintet. The release of "Right Here Right Now," a reggae-leaning anthem for our present lives, marks the first recorded original collaboration from the three acclaimed acts. This collection, recorded at Santa Barbara Sound Design and East West Studios, was produced and co-written by David Manzoor (Lupe Fiasco, Cam, Method Man) and engineered by Will Brierre (Imagine Dragons, Chris Isaak).
"'Right Here, Right Now' is a song that celebrates living in the moment," shares Iration. "We wanted to give everybody an anthem, and who better to enlist than our friends Eric Rachmany from Rebelution and Stick Figure? Our new album Coastin' is a record about being thankful for the moments that we have and this song really focuses on that. It's such a timely message, so let's all celebrate self-reflection and live in the present."
"When we think about the vibe of this record, one of the images that kept coming up was driving down PCH in a Cadillac convertible, top down, on a crispy, sunny day, and you just put the album on and drive," describes Pueschel. "That's the kind of feel that we want to bring - that feeling like there's no worries, you're not stressing about anything, you're just putting on the music and going down the coast, enjoying the ride."
Iration is currently made up of Micah Pueschel [lead vocals/guitar], Adam Taylor [bass], Joe Dickens [drums], Cayson Peterson [keyboard/synth] and Micah Brown [guitar/vocals]). The band formed in 2004 in Isla Vista, a community connected to UC Santa Barbara. They began playing reggae covers in college towns such as Cal Poly SLO, Chico State and UC Davis. In 2007, they recorded and released their first full-length album, “No Time for Rest.” They have gone on to put out six more collections, including “Time Bomb” (2010), “Automatic” (2013), “Hotting Up” (2015), “Double Up” (2016), “Iration” (2018) and finally “Coastin” (2020).
Their U.S. Summer tour in support of “Coastin’” was unfortunately postponed due to the pandemic but will be picked back up in Summer 2021.
