Provo, Utah’s The Aces return with their first song in nearly two years. The track, released via Red Bull Records is called “Daydream” and it opens with lead guitarist Katie Henderson’s familiar clean guitar strums and a sleek harmony of vocals. The song also showcases a slightly new style from The Aces. There is a more electronic influence than any previous release, yet the core rock identity of the quartet remains undeniably present.
When asked about the song, The Aces explained, “We want our fans to feel submerged in this music and walk away feeling closer to us than ever. ‘Daydream’ is about what it’s like to be away from a loved one. When we’re on tour, we’re leaving a love note and memento saying, ‘I’m thinking of you, so daydream about me.’"
The Aces was formed in 2008 and the all-girl quartet is currently made up of guitarist Katie Henderson, bassist McKenna Petty, and sisters- drummer Alisa Ramirez and lead vocalist and guitarist Cristal Ramirez. In 2018, they released their debut full-length album entitled “When My Heart Felt Volcanic.” They had previously put out three EPs. Their breakout single, "Stuck" racked up more than two million plays on streaming services and gave them their first taste of national success.
