Band Of Skulls
Jun 28, 2019
“Love Is All You Love” is the fifth studio album by the British group Band Of Skulls. It was released on April 12th via SO Recordings. Produced by Richard X, it is their first album without drummer Matt Hayward, who left in 2017. The new single from the collection is the title track “Love Is All You Love.”
Band Of Skulls has called this album an "anti-war cry for our turbulent times" and said they wanted to avoid making a "depressing record, because we don't think anyone wants to hear a dark, depressing record about these times. We wanted to have that feeling of euphoria in song, because we weren't getting it anywhere else. This record is tough and tender with a rebellious spirit,” explains members Emma and Russell. “It is a positive record. It looks to what is possible and how a little love and human kindness can help bring about positive change. We drew on personal experiences, changes in our situation, and couldn’t help but be affected by what has been going on in the world politically, culturally and environmentally. Attempting to overcome that sometimes powerless feeling by creating and connecting with people and making something new.”
Formed in 2004, Band Of Skulls is currently made up of Russell Marsden (guitar & vocals) and Emma Richardson (bass & vocals). Since 2009, they have released four studio albums; “Baby Darling Doll Face Honey” (2009), “Sweet Sour” (2012), “Himalayan” (2014), “By Default” (2016) and “Love Is All You Love” (2019). They have toured with Muse, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Queens Of The Stone Age and The Black Keys among others, as well as touring the globe as a headline act.
Band Of Skulls will be coming to the U.S. for a number of tour dates this September in support of “Love Is All You Love.”
