Absofacto

“Dissolve” is the new single out now from the solo project of singer-songwriter Johnathan Visger better known today as Absofacto. The track was in fact released back in 2015 so this a re-release under his new label, Atlantic Records. It can be found on his 2017 debut EP, “A Thousand Peaces.”
When asked about the inspiration for the EP’s name, Absofacto explains, "The EP name evokes a thousand-piece puzzle. The world is so insane right now, with so many forces clashing. But there’s not one simple answer that can make everything better. Each smaller conflict between people that can be resolved peacefully rather than creating more tension is a step towards peace everywhere. I picture it in my mind as atoms forming planets, planets forming galaxies, and galaxies forming the universe. Every big thing being made up of smaller parts.”
"'Dissolve’ is really meaningful to me. Chemistry between people is obviously a big player in romance. It only works when there’s balance. If you’re really in love with someone, you naturally want to give them everything you’ve got. And some people will take that love even if they don’t feel as strongly as you do. It can really mess with your head. It’s a beautiful, sad feeling… in theory it’s amazing to give your love as a gift without needing anything in return, but in reality it’s so painful when it isn’t reciprocated.”
After just one semester of college in Alpena, MI, Visger quit school and bounced in and out of various Midwest indie bands based in Ann Arbor. In 2012, be began writing and recording under the moniker Absofacto. In 2017, he released his debut EP, “A Thousand Peaces.” This collection includes “Light Outside,” which racked up 3.6 million Spotify streams in under six months.
