New Politics

“Comeback Kid” is the brand new single from the Danish band New Politics. Currently out now via new label Big Noise, it is a song about finding the strength in hard times. “You can knock me out/You can hold me down/I’m a comeback kid,” lead singer David Boyd triumphantly sings in the chorus. “Ain’t no rest for the wicked.”
“Writing ‘Comeback Kid’ couldn’t have come at a more perfect time for us,” said Boyd in a statement. “I feel the message of the song might not be anything new, it’s something we’ve all heard before. But it’s a reminder and a truth everyone needs in their life. If you’re playing a game, if you’re in a relationship or hustling at work, life is a roller coaster of wins and losses, but you must maintain the will and the courage to bounce back.”
“Everyone has something in their life that they've beaten and come back from,” the band elaborates. “As a band we've gone through our own situations and this is our anthem powering back through.”
New Politics was formed in Copenhagen in 2009. The band consists of David Boyd, Søren Hansen, and Louis Vecchio. They have released four albums: “New Politics” (2010), “A Bad Girl In Harlem” (2013), “Vikings” (2015) and “LosI in Translation” (2017). Over the past 10 years, New Politics has a Top 5 Alternative Radio single with “Harlem,” Top 10 with “One Of Us,” Top 15 with “Tonight You’re Perfect,” Top 20 with “Everywhere I Go (Kings & Queens),” and Top 25 with “West End Kids.”
This year, New Politics are celebrating their 10-year anniversary with a run of six intimate shows at venues across the U.S. The tour kicks off June 19th in Brooklyn, New York, at Baby’s All Right with stops in Boston, Chicago, Denver and Sacramento before wrapping up June 29th at The Roxy in L.A.
