Ra Ra Riot

Released August 24th on Barsuk Records, Ra Ra Riot's sophomore effort The Orchard has already debuted #36 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart and been hailed by New York Magazine as "poised to become the soundtrack to your life."

Now having recently completed a Japanese tour, numerous festival and pre-release appearances and a Daytrotter session that can be heard at http://www.daytrotter.com/dt/ra-ra-riot-concert/20031316-110907.html, Ra Ra Riot is continuing this series of career highs with a full-on North American tour. The tour began September 21st in New York.

The seeds of their latest album, The Orchard, were sown over the course of a couple of years, and harvested when guitarist Milo Bonacci compiled every stray idea and demo the band had accumulated since releasing their breakthrough album, The Rhumb Line.

The Orchard was produced by Ra Ra Riot and Andrew Maury and mixed by Chris Walla (with the exception of "Do You Remember," which was mixed by Rostam Batmanglij). It's August 24th release date marked two years, nearly to the day, since the release of the band's debut album, The Rhumb Line, which debuted at #109 on the U.S. album chart and went on to sell in excess of 60,000 copies.

The Orchard marks the first time Ra Ra Riot vocalist Wes Miles, bassist Mathieu Santos, guitarist Milo Bonacci, violinist Rebecca Zeller and cellist Alexandra Lawn have been joined in the studio by drummer Gabriel Duquette, who has toured with the band since the release of The Rhumb Line.
