“Far Away Truths” is the newest track of Albert Hammond Jr.’s latest solo record, “Francis Trouble” out now via Red Bull Records. The singer’s wife, Justyna, directed the video, which finds the musician performing the energetic rocker in front of a colorful backdrop. Hammond Jr.'s lively movements are accentuated by occasional special effects, but even more mesmerizing are the shadows, silhouettes and kaleidoscopic flourishes crafted by lighting wiz Tobias Rylander.
"Sometimes making music videos takes months, sometimes weeks, I do it in days," Hammond Jr. said. "I was lucky to work with my wife, Justyna, directing and the legend Tobias Rylander creating visuals that echo the Francis Trouble album art."
When asked about the overall album, Hammond Jr. explains, "What the music says may be serious, but as a medium it should not be questioned, analyzed or taken too seriously. I think it should be tarted up, made into a character, a parody of itself. The music is the mask the message wears and I, the performer, am the message."
Along with being in the band, The Strokes, Albert Hammond Jr. has been making music since 1999. He released his debut album “Yours To Keep” in 2006 and followed up with “¿Cómo Te Llama?” in 2008, an EP, “AHJ,” in 2013, and a third album, “Momentary Masters,” released in 2015.
Albert Hammond Jr. will spend the next few months touring Europe, Asia and Australia, though he is scheduled to play Voodoo festival, taking place in New Orleans October 26th through 28th.
