Halo Circus
Mar 8, 2018
The Los Angeles-based electronic duo Halo Circus have released their new single called “Narcissist.” This bold song sees lead singer Allison Iraheta and producer Matthew Hager ditching the four piece rock band aesthetics and opting for a lyrically audacious and in your face electronic sound.
Matthew Hager explains, "Its been nearly 6 years since we wrote our debut album Bunny. Since then, the world seems to have mutated. This song is about looking directly into the eyes of 2018 and holding up a mirror. Any resemblance to any actual person, living or otherwise, is purely coincidental."
“Narcissist” will be featured on the duo’s forthcoming “Robots And Wranglers” album, which is the follow up to their 2016 “Bunny” full-length and last year’s “The East Lansing Sessions” EP. Mixed by renowned producer Craig Bauer (Rihanna, Kanye West) the new album sees the band shedding their rock skin and adopting a more electronic sonic approach. “Robots And Wranglers” will be out on March 16th via 76 Steps Music.
“We’ve always seen Halo Circus as an art project,” said Allison lIraheta when describing the band’s sonic shift. “The first album was an alternative rock album, the EP bordered on Americana, and this album is the logical next step for us. We wanted to make an electronic album that was cinematic in scope and sounded like it was recorded on a spaceship.”
Allison Iraheta, an alumnus from season 8 of American Idol, formed Halo Circus in 2012 with her husband Matthew Hager as a four-piece Rock outfit. Armed with a new album of inspiring electro-pop tracks, Halo Circus begin their Robots And Wrangers U.S. tour March 22nd in Littleton, CO.
