“In Bloom” is the new single at radio from the Welsh group, Neck Deep. Their new album , “The Peace And The Panic” was released by Hopeless Records on August 18th and debuted #4 on the Billboard Top 200. Mike Green (Paramore, Pierce The Veil, All Time Low) produced the album with assistance from engineers Will McCoy and Colin Schwanke. Most of the album was mixed by Neal Avron, while Green mixed three of the songs.
Neck Deep front-man Ben Barlow explained, “When we were writing “Life’s Not Out To Get You,” we were going through a period of uninterrupted happiness. We were super-content, but as that album came out, life changed for us,” Barlow says. “Over the two years we’ve toured that record, so much has happened that I’ve re-evaluated what life is about and questioned whether just having a positive outlook is enough.”
He had this to say about the new single, "’In Bloom’ was the very first piece of music we wrote for the new album and it kickstarted the whole creative process. Originally it was written to be purely acoustic, and over time we built it out into a full band song. In many ways it set the bar and tone for the rest of the album. It's pretty down-tempo for us, yet it builds throughout and climaxes in one of my favourite arrangements we've ever created."
Neck Deep was formed in Wrexham in 2012 when vocalist Ben Barlow met former lead guitarist Lloyd Roberts. The pair posted a song online and it soon gained attention online, resulting in the addition of rhythm guitarist Matt West, drummer Dani Washington and bassist Fil Thorpe-Evans. They released a pair of EPs, “Rain in July” (2012) and “A History of Bad Decisions” (2013), before signing with Hopeless in 2013. Following the release of their debut album “Wishful Thinking” in 2014, the band became a full-time project, with the band members leaving their jobs and/or dropping out of college. Shortly after the release of their second album “Life's Not Out To Get You” in 2015, Roberts left the band and Sam Bowden (formerly of Climates and Blood Youth) took his place.
Neck Deep will go on tour this October in support of the new album, with dates planned across the UK and Europe. They will kickoff 2018 in the U.S. for a headline tour beginning January 18th.
