Electric Guest
Feb 9, 2017
"Back For Me" is the new single from the Los Angeles band Electric Guest. It is an endlessly catchy trip through vintage pop and R&B vibes that sees the group at the top of their game. The track will be on their forthcoming album, "Plural" which will be released on February 17th via Downtown/Interscope Records. This collection was recorded in their home city and came together during a "period of self-reflection". The album follows 2012's Danger Mouse-produced debut "Mondo," and sees the pair working with the likes of Joanna Newsom and The Vaccines' Justin Young.
"We were pretty anti-computers in general last time," Taccone says. "And actually labels -- they didn't get mad at us, but they were like, 'You could benefit. You're only two people.' And really, I'm not playing a lot onstage; I'm mostly just singing. I think we just embraced the computer a bit more -- in a tasteful way, I hope."
Formed in 2011, Electric Guest is comprised of Asa Taccone and Matthew "Cornbread" Compton. Brothers Todd and Tory Dahlhoff play bass and keyboards & guitar, respectively, in the touring version of the band. In 2012, the band released their debut album, "Mondo."
Electric Guest have a huge run of North American dates confirmed this spring.
